Fasren Cucina is a recipe publication. People come here to read about Calabrian cooking, and that is the whole business. This page explains, in plain language, what information passes through the site when you visit, why it does, and what say you have in the matter.

The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell anything on this site, and we have no interest in building a profile of you. The information that reaches us is the ordinary technical residue of running a website plus anything you choose to send us by email. Advertising partners such as Google may set their own cookies, as described below, and you can limit that yourself.

What reaches us automatically

Like nearly every site on the web, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical data when a page is requested: the IP address the request came from, the browser and device type, the pages viewed and the time of the visit. These server records exist for security and troubleshooting. We look at them in aggregate, if at all, and we do not use them to identify individual readers.

What you choose to send

If you write to us at the address at the bottom of this page, we will receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply. We do not add correspondence addresses to any marketing list, because we do not operate one.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Fasren Cucina may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this and other websites. This is standard across ad supported publishing and it happens under Google's own policies, not ours.

If you opt out of personalization, ads may still appear, but they will not be tailored to your browsing history.

How cookies behave here

Cookies are small text files a site asks your browser to keep. On Fasren Cucina they come from two places: basic functionality of the site itself, and third party advertising as described above. Every mainstream browser lets you view, block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking cookies will not break the recipes; the site remains fully readable without them.

Where your information never goes

We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise hand visitor information to data brokers or marketers. We have no customer database. The only parties that process technical data in connection with this site are our hosting provider and, where ads are shown, Google, each under their own published terms.

Keeping records lean

Server records rotate and are overwritten on a routine schedule set by our hosting provider. Emails are kept only as long as a conversation stays relevant, then deleted. We keep nothing longer than a small publication plausibly needs.

Readers under sixteen

This site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a minor has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, data protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase personal data a publisher holds about you. In our case the honest answer is that we hold almost nothing, but if you write to us we will confirm what, if anything, exists and act on your request. When this page changes

If our practices change, this page changes with them, and the revision date at the top is updated. Substantive changes will not be applied retroactively to information collected under an earlier version.
